The small web doesn't have to compete with the big one. It can be slower and stranger. A website might exist simply because someone wanted to make it, and a blog might be updated because its author had something they wanted to say.
You might only have a few readers. You might have none.
There's something reassuring about that. The internet doesn't have to be a stage. It can still be a collection of little places, made by people for their own reasons.
